The Australian Government is seeking applications from outstanding leaders with an impressive record of achievement and a demonstrated commitment to integrity for the roles of National AntiCorruption Commissioner and National Anti-Corruption Deputy Commissioner.

The National AntiCorruption Commission (NACC) is a powerful, transparent and independent integrity agency with jurisdiction to investigate and report on serious or systemic corruption across the Commonwealth public sector. The NACC works closely with other integrity agencies and is
overseen by a Parliamentary Joint Committee and an Inspector.

The Commissioner is the head of the NACC and the custodian of a broad range of powers including significant coercive powers. The Commissioner is supported by up to three Deputy Commissioners and the Chief Executive Officer.


Reporting directly to the Commissioner and working closely with the CEO, the Deputy Commissioners play an integral role in detecting and investigating serious or systemic corruption.


Together, the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioners lead the NACC’s operations. They are responsible for building relationships with key stakeholders, promoting public confidence and promoting integrity standards and corruption prevention across the Commonwealth.


To be eligible for appointment as Commissioner, applicants must be a retired Judge of a federal court or a state or territory court, or a legal practitioner enrolled for at least five years.


The appointments will be for terms of up to 5 years on a full-time basis. The Commission has offices in Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. Travel between these locations and elsewhere will be required.
