About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Aged CarePricing and Data Specialist with strong data, analytical and written skills to support the preparation, analysis, and submission of aged care pricing applications, and contribute to projects across Uniting’s aged care portfolio.
Reporting to the Project Officer and working closely with the Business Sustainability and Seniors Services teams, this role is responsible for analysing and interpreting data, reviewing documents, validating inputs from multiple sources, and translating data into accurate and compliant pricing submissions. The role plays a key part in supporting evidence-based pricing decisions and ensuring data integrity across submissions.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse, validate, and interpret data to support aged care pricing, including submissions to IHACPA.
Coordinate and manage end-to-end data collation and analysis required for aged care pricing.
Review datasets and written evidence. Collect visual documentation (eg photos, floor plans) to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
Review and investigate qualitative and quantitative information provided and understand its meaning.
Identify data gaps, anomalies, and risks, and proactively work with the Project Officer and stakeholders to resolve them.
Liaise with internal stakeholders to source, clarify, and validate data inputs in a timely and structured manner.
Consolidate and translate complex data into clear, accurate and defensible outcomes, including clearly written documentation and justification.
Manage multiple datasets, deadlines, and priorities to meet submission timeframes.
Maintain high standards of documentation, version control, and audit readiness.
Support the Project Officer with data-driven insights, market analysis, and written reports to inform pricing strategy.
Contribute to continuous improvement of data collection, analysis, and reporting processes.
Skills, experience and qualifications
Essential
Tertiary qualifications in data analytics, business analytics, economics, social sciences or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Typically 2+ years’ experience in data analysis, research, reporting, or pricing-related roles (aged care or regulated environments desirable; graduates considered on merit).
Proven ability to analyse, validate, and interpret complex datasets with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, covering both qualitative and quantitative information.
Advanced organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
Clear and concise written communication skills, including the ability to explain in writing data findings to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong Excel capability, including data manipulation, analysis, and reporting.
Experience working with Word, Adobe, and online data collection or application platforms.
Ability to follow detailed specifications and regulatory requirements, and revise outputs based on feedback.
Confidence working collaboratively with stakeholders to obtain, validate, and understand data.
Willingness to visit residential aged care sites to collect a range of data including required photos of resident rooms and common areas and validate floor plans and room measurements.
Willingness to learn new systems and analytical tools, including CAD software.
Desirable
Experience analysing pricing, cost, or financial datasets.
Experience in project-based or compliance-driven data environments.
Strong experience in Excel modelling and data visualisation.
Familiarity with SharePoint or document management systems.
Understanding of the aged care sector, funding models, or IHACPA pricing processes.
