About the Role:
As our highly valued Maintenance Assistant in the Facilities team at BBC, you will support the daily upkeep of our campus by performing general repairs, helping with event setups, and maintaining equipment. Your contribution will help create a safe, functional, and well-presented environment for students, staff, and visitors. Flexibility, teamwork, and a proactive approach are essential, with scheduled shifts and participation in College events.

What You Bring
Proven experience in general building maintenance and repairs.
Ability to assist with event setup and pack down.
Proactive communication skills to report maintenance issues and liaise with teams.
Flexibility to work rotating shifts (6am-2pm or 10am-6pm) and cover shifts as needed.
Strong understanding of Workplace Health & Safety regulations.
Physically fit to safely perform manual tasks, including lifting and carrying.
Additional skills and requirements:
Basic IT skills (Microsoft Office, job management systems like Upkeep).
Valid C Class driver's licence (manual or automatic).
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
Valid Blue Card or Exemption Card.
Desirable but not essential:
Experience in a school or similar maintenance environment.
Knowledge of health and safety issues specific to educational settings.
