Banksy Bar & Kitchen is a modern cafe and cocktail bar located in Broadbeach, Gold Coast, QLD. We offer a stylish and welcoming atmosphere with seating for up to 80 customers, providing both dine-in and takeaway food and drink options. Our commitment is to provide an exceptional customer experience, with every detail carefully considered for their comfort and enjoyment. We serve certified organic coffee from Quest Coffee Roasters, available both for purchase and in our delicious coffee creations.

We are looking for a Kitchen Hand / Cafe Attendant to join our team!

Position: Kitchen Hand / Cafe Attendant
Hours: 4-20 hours/week (Sat and / or Sun). Working hours will comply with all relevant employment regulations for young workers.
Rate: Above Award Rate + Super, Bonuses, and Penalty Rates (Suitable for High School and Uni Students). Rates comply with all Fair Work Australia regulations, including junior wage rates
Location: Broadbeach, Gold Coast, QLD

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Food Preparation: Assist in food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables, as well as portioning ingredients.
  • Assisting Chefs and Cooks: Provide support to chefs and cooks during meal preparation, including retrieving ingredients and utensils.
  • Running Food: Delivering food orders from the kitchen to the appropriate tables, ensuring accuracy and prompt service.
  • Clearing and Cleaning Tables: Keeping the dining area tidy and presentable, clearing tables after customers leave, and promptly resetting them for the next guests.
  • General Cleaning: Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the cafe, including regular cleaning of surfaces, floors, and equipment.
  • Dishwashing: Ensuring timely and efficient cleaning of kitchen equipment, dishes, glassware, and utensils to maintain a smooth workflow and support kitchen operations.
  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following organisation standards and Food Health & Safety regulations
ABOUT YOUPROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Familiarity with basic kitchen tasks (e.g., home cooking or school kitchen experience)
  • Strong listening and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and follow health and safety procedures
NICE TO HAVE (Not required, but beneficial)
  • Certification in Hospitality or related industry.
  • Professional Hospitality experience either in Front of House or Kitchen
PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Australian citizen or resident with an appropriate long term visa to work in Australia
  • Minimum 15 years old
  • Availability to work at least 1 weekend day every week
  • Availability to work recurring shifts on weekends (more during school holidays)
  • Loves cooking and hospitality
  • Ability to reliably commute to Broadbeach
