Technical Experience The successful candidate must have a minimum of 1 year experience in at least one of the following fields. Experience must be across fieldwork programs, laboratory data interpretation and reporting. - Contaminated Land Management - Hazardous Materials and Asbestos Management - Environmental Monitoring inc. noise, dust and vibration monitoring and/or dewatering Responsibilities Assisting Senior/Mid level staff in the following: - Coordinating project execution and completion, ensuring projects meet quality standards, budgets and deadlines. - Mentoring and upskilling junior team members, fostering their professional growth and improving their ability to contribute effectively to projects. - Assisting with various office management tasks such as resource allocation, facilities management, and administrative support to maintain a well-organised and productive work environment. Fieldwork assistance and report preparation of existing Nova Pacific projects for ongoing environmental monitoring programmes including: - Remediation project management (assisting project manager) at known contaminated sites for NSW EPA. - Contaminated site investigations, soil classifications and Acid Sulfate Soil investigations for Wollongong- South Coast Councils and Civil Engineering Consultancies. - Surface water quality monitoring for Sydney Councils. - Landfill gas, noise & dust monitoring for Sydney Councils and Civil Contractors. - Ground water monitoring and dewatering monitoring for Sydney Councils and Civil Contractors. - Vibration monitoring for the protection of underground assets and services for Sydney Councils and Civil Contractors. Comprehensive project work for a wide range of environmental scopes across NSW, ensuring compliance with relevant state and federal legislation, industry standards, and approval processes. This includes: - Assisting with the creation of project proposals and detailed tender documentation. - Developing and communicating detailed sampling strategies (Sampling Analysis Quality Plans). - Managing sample intake and transfer under appropriate chain of custody. - Preparing and reviewing various environmental reports, including but not limited to, Contaminated Land Investigations, Soil & Waste Classifications, Surface Water & Groundwater Investigations, Acid Sulfate Soil Assessments/ Management Plans and Asbestos & Hazardous Materials Surveys. - Remaining up to date with NSW and Australian Standards and regulations, as well as industry best practice, to ensure the company’s services remain compliant and competitive in a rapidly evolving environmental consulting landscape. - Ensuring project deadlines are met in a cost-effective and timely manner. - Reviewing and preparing project-related invoices. - Maintaining accurate timesheets to log all activities related to company projects. Cultivate productive and long-lasting relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction and success. This includes: - Collaborating with clients to develop project proposals, outlining project scope of works, objectives, deliverables, budgets, and risk management strategies. - Maintaining clear lines of communication with clients to understand and address their project requirements, budgets, and timeframes, by providing a logical and efficient path to achieve project goals. - Effectively resolving conflicts and concerns as they arise during projects to uphold positive client relationships. - Assessing and addressing client feedback, continuously striving to improve service quality and exceed client expectations. - Identifying opportunities for project expansion and additional services to enhance client retention and satisfaction. - Ensuring project activities and interactions with clients comply with relevant regulations and industry standards. - Maintaining thorough records of client interactions, project details, and contractual agreements, providing regular project updates to clients. - Contributing to the company’s growth by identifying new business opportunities, including referrals and cross-selling services, while retaining and expanding the client base. Oversee and coordinate subcontractors, aligning their efforts with project objectives and timelines. This includes: - Liaising with subcontractors to establish project goals and timeframes. - Reviewing and approving subcontractor invoices, ensuring they align with quoted and proposed fee schedules and timeframes. - Ensuring subcontractors execute tasks in a safe and compliant manner, adhering to relevant regulations and standards. - Cultivating and maintaining mutually beneficial working relationships with subcontractors to enhance collaboration and project outcomes. Selection Criteria Educational Qualification: A tertiary qualification in Earth & Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or an equivalent field. - Professional Experience: A minimum of 1 year of full-time experience in Contaminated Land Management and/or Environmental Consultancy. - Subcontractor Management: Experience in managing teams of subcontractors, including drillers, excavator operators, asbestos removal/demolition crews. - Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant NSW and Australian standards and guidelines for Contaminated Land and Occupational Hygiene. - Driver's License: Possession of a full C Class Driver's license (manual). - Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective communication with both clients and team members. - Report Writing: Proficient in report writing with the ability to technically and critically review reports created by colleagues. - Software Proficiency: Familiarity with ESdat, ESlog, (or similar relevant software). Desirable - Sydney based location. - Possession of a Licensed Asbestos Assessor (LAA) certification or a willingness to obtain this certification. - Rail Industry Safety Induction (RISI) Pass. - Holding a valid White Card. - Completion of Asbestos Awareness Training. - Project Management: Demonstrated experience in successfully delivering (or assisting) small to large-scale Contaminated Land and/or Hazardous Materials Management projects from project initiation to completion.
