About the role:
The NSW Crime Commission's purpose is to disrupt, reduce and prevent the incidence of organised and other serious crime in New South Wales. The Commission is structured into several divisions, support teams and specialist units.
The Commission's Legal & Confiscations Division exercises independent professionalism at all times, provides legal services (including legal advice, litigation services and transactional legal work) to the Commission. Significant aspects of the work include conducting litigation; supporting the Commission's criminal and financial investigations, advising on legal compliance, and preparing and making applications for statutory warrants on behalf of the Commission.
The Commission is seeking applications from enthusiastic, driven and suitably experienced individuals interested in an exciting opportunity to form part of a specialist financial investigations team. The Forensic Accountant will be responsible for managing concurrent confiscation matters involving relatively straightforward financial analyses and investigations in accordance with relevant legislation, accounting standards and Commission policies and procedures. You will be involved in analysing and assisting in the determination of proceeds of crime and unexplained wealth and take responsibility for all aspects of financial investigations including participating in interviews, providing specialist financial advice and attending pre-settlement negotiations.
If you have degree qualifications and / or relevant experience in the forensic accounting field or another relevant discipline and can demonstrate a proven ability to communicate technical and financial concepts to a variety of audiences, this may be the next career challenge you have been hoping for.
