About The Role
We’re looking for a Finance Data Analyst to join our Payroll team, responsible for delivering high‑quality reporting, insights, and data governance across payroll and time & attendance systems.
In this role, you’ll design and maintain reporting solutions, minimise manual processes, and ensure payroll data integrity through robust testing and anomaly detection. You’ll play a key role in identifying trends, investigating discrepancies, and documenting root causes to support payroll accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.
You’ll work with data from multiple platforms including payroll systems, data warehouses, EDP, Excel, and other source files. Collaboration is central to this role — you’ll partner closely with Payroll Compliance, Payroll Processing, Finance, and HR Insights teams to deliver trusted insights and actionable reporting.

What's Involved
Design, develop, and maintain repeatable payroll and time & attendance reporting solutions
Build and implement data validation and testing frameworks to identify anomalies, errors, and data quality issues
Investigate discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, and document findings and remediation actions
Gather, clean, and analyse large structured datasets from multiple sources (e.g. payroll, time & attendance)
Perform statistical analysis to assess data integrity, trends, and performance indicators
Develop and maintain data pipelines to support an automated reporting environment
Produce clear, meaningful reports and dashboards using BI tools (e.g. Power BI)
Translate complex data insights into practical recommendations for business and external stakeholders
Partner with stakeholders to understand reporting needs, clarify insights, and support ongoing performance discussions
Who We’re Looking For
Our ideal candidate will an analytical problem‑solver with strong data foundation and an interest in payroll, finance, and workforce data. You’re comfortable working across multiple systems, enjoy improving processes, and take pride in producing accurate, trusted insights.
You can work independently, but you thrive in cross‑functional environments and communicate confidently with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
You’ll Need
Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Finance, or equivalent practical experience
Proven experience in a Data Analyst or Data Quality / QA‑focused role
Strong understanding of data analytics, statistical methods, and data quality principles
Advanced skills in SQL, Excel, Power Query, and the Microsoft Office suite
Experience using Python for data analysis and automation
Experience working with relational databases and large, complex datasets
Excellent problem‑solving skills with the ability to perform detailed root cause analysis
