The Athenaeum Club, one of Melbourne's most prestigious establishments, seeks a proactive, organised, and energetic individual to join the middle management team as a Supervisor.
This is a rare opportunity to join a long established highly regarded city Club. You'll be responsible for planning, (2 - 4 months in advance), coordinating and supervising the delivery of service in the Club's Bar, Restaurant and for a high volume of events and private functions that fill the Club's calendar on an annual basis. Such events include meetings, corporate functions, leisure events, weddings, cocktail parties, sporting events and special themed events. Reporting to the FB & Events Manager and the House Manager, and working closely with another Supervisor, you will manage the service delivery of the Club's private functions, Club events, Members Bar and Restaurant Dining across 7 floors as well as assist with supervision of reservations, reception and housekeeping.
You will be responsible for supervising the service of multiple events simultaneously. In this hands on role you will liaise with all levels of staff and management to ensure perfect service delivery with a focus on quality and attention to detail. Leading by example you will provide your growing team with regular training, coaching, appraisals and performance management.
In addition to building and maintaining existing member relationships and repeat custom you'll be helping keep our first-class product fresh and inviting. With a passion for hospitality and keen eye for detail, you will have previous experience in a similar role in a 5 star hotel or private Club. You will display mature communication and negotiation skills, and are a highly effective organiser, and excel under pressure. You display our values of trust, integrity, honesty and respect.
