·        Location: Dry River Station, Katherine, NT

·        On station shared accommodation

Dry River Station is a 65,000-hectare working property located near Katherine in the Northern Territory and is part of the Paspaley Groups strong portfolio of national agricultural interests. The Station runs 4 centre pivots with 300 hectares of irrigated land with further development planned for the future. Presently predominantly cropping grain and cereal crops for grain and fodder.

Paspaley Pastoral is looking for an experienced Farm Hand / Operator. Reporting to the Cropping Manager, you will work within a tight knit team to assist in the day-to-day operations of their cropping enterprise.

 Duties & Responsibilities:

• Carry out irrigation maintenance.

• Tractor and Loader operations

• Maintenance and repair of all plant, equipment and infrastructure of the station complex.

• General farm work

• Pasture and weed management.  

• Commitment to the company's strong Workplace Health & Safety program by supporting a culture of continuous improvement and aiding to always ensure the safety of all persons on the property.

 Desirable Criteria:

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form.

• John Deere equipment and GPS knowledge

• Sound mechanical knowledge and abilities (especially around pumps and irrigation troughs)

• Hay making and row crop experience

• Must be able to work as a part of a tight team.

• Must be a self-starter with a hardworking ethos who is energetic and well-organised and prepared to follow through a given task to completion.

• Australian citizenship or be a permanent resident.
