Our client, the Electoral Commission of South Australia (ECSA) is an independent statutory agency of the South Australian Government and is legislatively responsible for the conduct and administration of a range of parliamentary and non-parliamentary elections within the state. This includes state and by-elections, local council periodic and supplementary elections, first nations voice to parliament elections and elections for statutory authorities and commercial elections. ECSA is also responsible for providing community awareness and education programs that inform South Australians about the electoral system.

A rare opportunity has arisen for the appointment of a Deputy Electoral Commissioner to bring exceptional leadership to the team and assist in driving the strategic direction of the organisation. Reporting to the Electoral Commissioner, the appointee will be responsible for implementing and driving organisational change across a range of disciplines, providing executive leadership and management in the delivery of complex and significant statewide electoral events, operational activities and technology modernisation, and building and maintaining strategic relationships, networks and partnerships across government and non-government organisations.

To be successful in this role you will be an outstanding communicator with strong executive presence, and possess experience leading a complex organisation at an executive level. You will need a relevant tertiary qualification in business, public administration or law and a proven ability to operate with the highest levels of ethical behaviour, honesty, integrity and respect.

The Deputy Electoral Commissioner will exercise all delegated powers in the absence of the Electoral Commissioner.
