The Opportunity

We are looking for Food Services Assistants to join our team at Melrose Lodge, an 80-bed residential aged care facility based in Pendle Hill. As part of a large catering team you will play an important role ensuring our residents enjoy healthy and nourishing meals. This includes maintaining cleanliness of kitchen areas, assisting with meal preparation and supporting the serving and delivery of meals.

We are seeking people to provide a high standard of quality care to facility residents, by providing and maintaining a high standard of food service within the facility.

Available Shifts include:
  • Weekday and Weekends
  • Morning or afternoon shifts

What you will bring to the role:
  • Food handler basic training (Food Authority) or equivalent
  • Experienced in preparation, serving and delivery of fresh meals
  • Experience in table service and clearing duties
  • Experience in working in a fast-paced kitchen and or bulk food preparation – desirable
  • Knowledge and experience in working to the compliance of the Food Safety Standards to HACCP level
  • Experience in Aged Care desirable
  • Current First Aid Certificate desirable
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team player who is highly motivated
  • Availability to work various shifts across various days

Pre-employment screening

The successful candidate is required to have completed/have a willingness to undertake the following:

  • Vaccinated in accordance with UPA’s Immunisation and Vaccination Policy (including proof of the required doses of a TGA approved COVID-19 vaccine and annual influenza)
  • Undertake a National Criminal History Check
  • Pre-Employment Medical Assessment
