Custody Notification Service Lawyer - Aboriginal Legal Rights Movement (ALRM) Location: Adelaide, SA | Full-time or Part-time | Roster-based shifts with attractive penalty rates for out-of-hours work. This is a hybrid role with work from home required.
Make a meaningful impact in the lives of Aboriginal people in custody. ALRM is seeking a committed lawyer to join our Custody Notification Service (CNS) team, providing culturally safe legal advice and wellbeing checks to Aboriginal clients in police custody.
Salary Range
$75,000 to $81,500 per annum FTE plus superannuation, award penalty rates and leaving loading of 17.5%.
As a not-for-profit organisation, ALRM is able to offer its employees attractive salary sacrifice arrangements, up to $15,900 annually.
What you will do:
Deliver timely phone-based legal support to Aboriginal people in custody
Ensure compliance with CNS protocols and legal obligations
Provide legal advice and welfare advocacy
Work collaboratively with a team passionate about justice and cultural safety
What we are looking for:
Admitted legal practitioners including junior lawyers with less than 5 years PAE.
Strong communication skills and cultural awareness
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
