Chef - Cook Vespa Rossa 30 Block Pl, Melbourne VIC 3000 Australia Full time Salary $75,000-$85,000 Permanent, Full-time Vespa Rossa offers a unique dining experience. We are looking for a qualified and experienced chef and cook to join our business on a full-time basis. TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION, YOU MUST HAVE: • Have previous experience in the industry or in a similar role (at least 1 year) • Diploma/Certificate III/IV in cookery or equivalent • Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations. • Passion for creating delicious and high-quality food. • Strong leadership and communication skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team CHEF JOB RESPONSIBILTIES: • Developing new dishes and planning menus considering preparation costs including labour cost • Engaging in food preparation and cooking • Overseeing food preparation to maintain consistently high standards. • Providing demonstrations of techniques and offering advice on cooking procedures. • Monitoring and maintaining stock levels • Communicating and enforcing hygiene standards. • Collaborating with managers, and kitchen and waiting staff on food preparation issues • Demonstrating techniques and providing advice on cooking procedures. • Conducting inventory checks in the kitchen and placing supply orders as needed. • Selecting and training staff • Ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and updating policies regularly as needed. COOK JOB RESPONSIBILITIES • Prepare and assemble ingredients for menu items. • Prepare high-quality meals and food items according to company recipes. • Store excess food at the correct temperature in order to avoid spoilage. • Ensure that food portions and food presentation meet company standards. • Monitor supplies and re-order stock as needed. • Ensure that cooking utensils are clean before each use. • Clean and sterilize food preparation areas. • Assist other cooks to ensure that food orders are completed in a timely manner. • Efficiently resolve problems with customers’ orders. • Ensure that food health and safety regulations are followed. Job Type: Full-time, permanent Pay: $75,000.00- $85,000.00 per year
