About the Role

As our team continues to quickly grow, we are looking for motivated candidates inspired to work within an extremely energetic, creative, and innovative team passionate about subsea robotics and exploring the open ocean. This early‑career Manufacturing Engineer role involves designing mechanical production fixtures, coordinating MBOMs and Work Instructions, and advancing factory, equipment, and process execution in a cutting‑edge start‑up environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop novel tooling solutions for fabrication and assembly of structural parts.
  • Perform detailed mechanical designs including 3D modelling and 2D drawing creation using SolidWorks and/or NX.
  • Execute engineering calculations from first principles (e.g., lifting analysis, beam/hook loading, center of gravity calculations).
  • Create engineering drawings and adhere to engineering standards.
  • Select and manage suppliers, ensuring timelines and costs are met.
  • Oversee physical assembly and commissioning of designed systems.
  • Support the broader Production team by creating and maintaining MBOMs, translating EBOMs into a detailed manufacturing guide.
  • Develop, document, and maintain detailed work instructions to ensure consistent and correct execution of manufacturing tasks.
  • Diagnose and resolve production issues promptly, including equipment malfunctions and process deviations.
  • Work with other engineers to embed Design for Manufacturing features and principles in product design.
  • Ensure all processes adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
  • Coordinate effort to support Production team with mechanical design of fixtures/equipment and planning of manufacturing process (MBOMs, Work Instructions, MES Routings).
  • Design manufacturing jigs and fixtures with load testing requirements and prescription.
  • Design and develop mechanical test equipment including Factory Acceptance Testing in a submerged environment.
  • Create and maintain production MBOMs in Teamcenter (PLM) following approved changes.
  • Maintain existing Work Instructions ensuring alignment with product configuration and change process.
Required Qualifications
  • BS, M.Eng or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in manufacturing or mechanical design.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects from concept to completion.
  • Strong skills in SolidWorks and/or NX for 3D modelling and 2D drawing creation.
  • Personal experience with physical assembly and commissioning.
  • Proficiency in engineering calculations and material selection.
  • Familiarity with engineering standards and GD&T.
  • Ability to manage suppliers and project timelines effectively.
  • Willingness to travel to the US as needed for project requirements.
  • Requirement to hold an Australian NV2 Security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SolidWorks/Teamcenter.
  • Experience with ERP and MES systems.
  • Experience in the design and development of tooling, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Experience in production support within an advanced manufacturing organization.
  • Understanding of load testing and prescription for mechanical fixtures.
  • Knowledge of corrosion prevention techniques.
Compensation

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
