Nexia Sydney is expanding, and we are looking to bring on a new Audit Senior.

Job Overview

The opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced senior Audit professional looking to take the next step in their career.

This role is responsible for supervising and completing audit assignments and is a key point of contact and control on the audit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple engagements at the same time
  • Plan audit assignments
  • Stay up to date with changes to audit procedures and learn to apply new procedures
  • Finalise and review audits at a high quality
  • Identify risks in audit, engagement, litigation and ethics in a changing environment
  • Support team performance
  • Act as client liaison, developing and maintaining good relationships to foster client confidence

About You

The successful candidate will fulfil the following criteria:

  • Minimum 3 years’ external auditing experience within an accountancy firm
  • Recently completed or near completion of your accountancy qualification (CA preferred)
  • Appropriate professional and technical skills required to demonstrate a good application of audit approach
  • Good understanding of the planning and programming work in all sections of audit including identifying risks, planning out audit assignments, program field work and using effective audit techniques in different areas
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Australian corporate reporting requirements (e.g. Accounting Standards, Corporations Act, UIG)
  • Good knowledge of Word, Excel, APS and audit systems (Caseware preferred)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Time management skill and the ability to maximise productivity of own time
  • Full Australian work rights
