As our scope of works increases and strengthens, we are seeking multiple Defence Fuel Installation Operators (DFI Operator) to join our team at Tindal RAAF Base, NT. The Role — Defence Fuel Installations Operator (DFI Operator)
Based in Katherine/Tindal NT and led by an Operations Supervisor, this position supports multiple fuel installation sites.
As a DFI Operator, you will:
Report to the Operations Advisor (OA) and perform a range of operational and functional tasks across the installation.
Ensure the safe, compliant operation and management of aviation and/or ground fuel installations.
Oversee fuel quality, compliance, quantity, and availability, including related systems and processes.
Maintain technical integrity of fuel through quality control sampling and testing.
Bring experience from similar environments—fuel or other high-risk/hazardous processing industries—highly regarded.
No prior Defence or Fuel Industry experience? No problem. While Defence or fuel industry experience is advantageous, UGL’s comprehensive training and development programs provide a pathway into the industry. You’ll receive the skills and knowledge needed to perform your role safely, including access to specialised interstate facilities and a mix of onsite and offsite training throughout your career.
What You Will Need

A valid driver’s licence (HR or HC desirable but not essential at entry).
Ability to obtain appropriate Defence Security Clearance.
Residency in Katherine/Tindal or willingness to relocate (close proximity to Tindal RAAF Base).
