This position is available on a fixed-term and permanent full-time basis (76 hours per fortnight). Fixed-term appointments may be extended and/or lead to permanency.
An opportunity exists for a talented and enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Gascoyne CAMHS Team.
Centrally located on the coast of Western Australian, the Gascoyne region extends along 600 kilometres of the Indian Ocean coastline and about 500 kilometres inland with an area of 135,277 square kilometres and a population of approximately 9,500 people. featuring Australia’s largest fringing coral reef. Natural attractions include the Shark Bay World Heritage Area, and Monkey Mia in the south; Ningaloo Reef World Heritage Area in the north; Kennedy Ranges and Mount Augustus National Park to the east. It is an established region founded on horticulture, pastoral and fishery production, resources and tourism. Enjoying 320 days of sunshine each year, outstanding lifestyle amenities, substantial investment potential and a pristine environment, a growing number of people are calling the Gascoyne home. The five Aboriginal language groups of the Gascoyne, the Yinggarda, Baiyungu, Malgana, Thadgari and Thalanyji have occupied the region for thousands of years and are custodians of its rich heritage, as well as very significant contributors to its current economic and social environment.
To be successful, you will have:
Eligible for registration in the category of Registered Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
Demonstrated experience in assessment, case management and therapy of children, adolescents and their families presenting with mental health problems at an advanced level.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of emotional, behavioural, psychological and psychiatric disorders of children and adolescents.
Demonstrated effective communication, liaison and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated effective negotiation, problem solving, analytical and conflict resolution skills.
Demonstrated experience in community work and liaison.
Sound knowledge of WA Mental Health Act 2014 and other relevant legislation.
Eligible for / or in possession of a current C or C-A Class drivers licence or other specialised licence class.
Position Profile: Provide a community based child and adolescent mental health nursing service. Demonstrate competent nursing practice by delivering individualized care using a problem‑solving approach to children, adolescents with mental health problems and their families.
