About the role
Disability Support Workers. Part time & casual Collie Collie•Bunbury, Australia
This is a challenging but rewarding opportunity for you to make a positive change in the lives of People with a Disability.
We are seeking skilled and experienced Disability Support Workers to fill multiple permanent part-time and casual positions available across our 24/7 supported residential homes supporting people with disabilities living in the community of Collie.
Working in a team you will be actively supporting their individual complex needs by creating a safe environment and ensuring services are provided in a culturally appropriate way. Our clients are active young adults who enjoy sports swimming and gaming. We are looking for support workers who can help them participate in these activities (including getting in the pool) as well as occasional transport to Bunbury for appointments (travel in own vehicle is reimbursed).
These roles will require successful applicants to be available and willing to work within a 24/7 roster that includes regular shift work including night shifts weekends and public holidays.
Key Responsibilities
Assistance with daily living
Documenting and Progress Note keeping
Provide behavioural support and follow behaviour management plans
Full personal care tasks including bathing dressing grooming
Medication assistance
Safe wheelchair transfers and transportation
Skills & Experience
Unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence
Current Provide First Aid Certificate and CPR
Certificate III Individual Support or similar and relevant mental health experience
A commitment to supporting and promoting the individual needs skills abilities and personal goals of people with disabilities.
The ability to develop a positive relationship with clients and to support their Individual Personal Plan
Previous experience supporting People with Disability behaviours of concern/or mental health including providing support for complex High Intensity Daily Personal Activities (HIDPA)
Successful candidates will be required to undertake probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and hold NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
