We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Care Officer to join our team and provide person-centred support to participants residing in shared accommodation and supported living environments. Key Responsibilities include but not limited to: • Assess participants' individual needs, capabilities, and personal goals to assist in implementing tailored support plans that promote independence and wellbeing. • Provide ongoing supervision, guidance, and emotional support to residents while encouraging the development of daily living, social, and life skills. • Monitor participants' wellbeing, behavioural changes, and progress towards individual goals, maintaining accurate documentation and reporting significant observations to relevant team members. • Support residents to participate in community, recreational, educational, and social activities that encourage inclusion and improve quality of life. • Liaise with families, guardians, allied health professionals, support coordinators, and external service providers to ensure coordinated and person-centred care. • Identify participants who require additional specialist or community services and facilitate appropriate referrals to support their ongoing needs. • Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive residential environment while supporting participants to exercise choice, independence, and personal dignity. • Maintain accurate client records, incident reports, and support documentation in accordance with NDIS Practice • Standards, organisational policies, and legislative requirements. • Assist in implementing positive behaviour support strategies and respond appropriately to challenging situations in accordance with approved care plans and organisational procedures. • Ensure all services are delivered in compliance with NDIS Practice Standards, safeguarding requirements, workplace health and safety legislation, and organisational policies. Qualifications: • Relevant qualification in Individual Support, Community Services, Disability, Mental Health, or a related field. • Minimum 1 year experience providing care and support within residential, supported independent living (SIL), disability, or community care settings. Skills & Other Requirements: • Sound understanding of person-centred practice, disability support principles, and participant rights. • Knowledge of the NDIS, Positive Behaviour Support principles, and relevant Australian legislation. • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to prepare accurate documentation and maintain confidential participant records. • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, First Aid and CPR certification, Working with Children Check (where applicable), and a current Australian driver's licence.
