Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men’s health globally, tackling mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer.

In our mission to stop men dying too young, we’re seeking a passionate Project Coordinator to join our Melbourne based team.


About the role

This exciting opportunity will see you providing global project coordination for one of the largest mental health programs in community sports in the world. In this role, you will become a key contact for the Movember Ahead of the Game (MAOTG) program, working with colleagues both internally and externally to ensure the smooth running of this evidence-based program.

You will work alongside some of the most influential sporting codes in the globe including soccer, rugby league, Aussie rules, rugby union and many, many more to manage and monitor delivery, support implementation and coordinate project secretariat for the MAOTG program (and Sports Health Initiative where required).

This initial two-year opportunity will see you working closely with the Portfolio Manager, Young Men’s Health – Global and connecting into the global Sports Health Initiative Squad - gaining exposure to the cross functional teams across Movember. You will have the opportunity to work flexibly, blending your time between home and our Richmond office.


You’ll have the opportunity to

  • Be a go-to centralised contact for operational elements of the MAOTG project.
  • Support day-to-day operations to ensure the effective implementation of the MAOTG project.
  • Coordinate communication and stakeholder engagement (internal and external).
  • Assist in timely set up of online and face to face meetings (across multiple time zones where necessary).
  • Develop clear and effective meeting agendas and taking minutes; including timely follow up of resulting action items.
  • Support team processes for filing and information-management where they are defined and support ongoing improvement in processes.
  • Be a keeper of records for project artefacts and documentation.
  • Utilise agreed work management platforms to organise, track and manage project (i.e. Asana).
  • Support MAOTG project teams to have a clear understanding of deliverable timelines.
  • Present detailed information in various formats (written and oral) in an audience-appropriate manner (i.e. program participation and engagement rates).
  • Support the Portfolio Manager and broader stakeholders by staying abreast of project details and background knowledge to enable informed decision making.
  • Work alongside the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Manager to provide a central contact point for all monitoring and activity data for the project, including collating monthly and quarterly updates on recorded activity for the Global Sports Health Initiative Squad.
  • Support the Portfolio Manager, Young Men’s Health – Global with Sports Health Initiative Global Squad administration requirements
  • Contribute to identifying project risks and issues and assisting the Portfolio Manager, Young Men’s Health – Global in developing and implementing mitigation strategies (where required).

For this role, you’ll need

  • 2-3 years’ experience in project coordination in health, community, sports or in not-for-profit sector.
  • A passion for improving youth mental health through implementing and building evidence-based programs.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively build relationships with all levels of the organisation.
  • Demonstrated skills in project coordination, time management, team work, problem-solving and identifying risks.
  • Well-developed organisation skills and ability to work in a fast paced and growth environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Outcomes focused, with an understanding of performance measurement.
  • Computer literacy skills - Proficient using Microsoft Office programs, including intermediate Excel skills.
  • Ability to learn and effectively use other software systems (i.e. Asana).
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and ‘think on your feet’.
  • Flexibility to attend calls outside normal work hours, including two global team meetings per month and other meetings as required.

Bonus points for

  • Previous experience working in the mental health/suicide prevention field.
  • Experience delivering programs in community or community sport settings.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in sport sciences, health, mental health, etc.
