Our Procurement department is seeking a Category Specialist to lead the establishment of our new ‘Tactical’ category. This role has been purposefully created to help us achieve our vision of great commercial outcomes and increased efficiency within ‘source-to-contract’ and ‘procure-to-pay’ for high-volume low-value procurement that is critical to our success.

As the Category Specialist – Tactical, you will develop Category Plans and undertake sourcing events that deliver sound commercial and cost-effective outcomes. In addition to this, you will partner with key stakeholders (e.g., Inventory Team, Operations, Sales, and Legal) and manage source-to-contract for agreements across Western Australia and New South Wales.

Location: South Guildford, WA

Roster: Monday - Friday, 8.5-hour days

To be successful the following is required:

• A tertiary qualification in the areas of Procurement, Supply Chain, Category Management or relevant discipline
• Significant post qualification experience in a mining, construction, forestry, infrastructure assets, manufacturing, engineering, or a related industry
• Proven experience in contracts (full contract lifecycle), procurement, compliance and quality environments
• A proven understanding of advanced contracting and sourcing concepts
• High attention to detail, ability to analyse problems and provide appropriate solutions to mitigate commercial risk and improve value to the business
• Ability to work successfully within both a team and autonomously
• Previous exposure to SAP ARIBA or a similar ERP system.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills
