Facilities & Campus Services (FCS) provides a responsive, integrated and customer-orientated service that supports the physical environments for students and staff, aiding their teaching, learning, research and administrative needs. Our purpose is to provide fit-for-purpose and innovative planning and delivery services that contribute to the success of ECU as a vibrant and progressive University. The Buildings and Services Team principally comprise of Projects, Planning, Maintenance and Campus services. The Buildings and Services team are responsible for ensuring the efficient maintenance and operation of the Universitys facilities. This includes managing major and minor capital works, maintenance contracts, conducting condition audits, and providing technical support for various projects to meet the strategic goals and legislative requirements of the University. The Role You will play a pivotal part in supporting the Buildings and Services teams, both in the Projects and Planning, Maintenance and Campus Support Team, as the essential local site presence. Oversight of onsite contractors, assistance with major and minor capital works, oversight of maintenance service provider works, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and providing technical advice for both minor and capital projects. You may assist in the completion of condition audits and the preparation of preventative maintenance plans, contributing to the efficient maintenance of our facilities. You will also manage the Campus Support Team who look after venue hire, university fleet vehicles and campus operations. This position involves collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure the Universitys infrastructure and campus meets strategic goals and legislative requirements. Skills & Experience Trade qualification in a relevant building-related discipline or equivalent experience Extensive experience in building maintenance services within large facilities Solid understanding of maintenance procedures Solid understanding of project management procedures is preferable Solid understanding of Australian Building Code Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems Strong customer service skills Strong leadership and team management skills Ability to work cooperatively with others Adaptability to changing environments You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the Universitys values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry Personal Excellence and Courage. Benefits & Remuneration This full time, ongoing role, attracts remuneration of $134,599 to $151,600 p.a. inclusive of 17% University superannuation contribution.
