Counsellor (Psychology, Councelling & Social work)

Ignite Potential is a not-for-profit organisation committed to improving the mental health and wellbeing of culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities. Our team works with compassion, cultural sensitivity, and a strong sense of social justice to empower individuals and promote inclusive mental health support.

We are seeking a dedicated and culturally competent Mental Health and Counselling Professional to deliver high-quality mental health support and counselling services to individuals and families from CALD backgrounds.

In this role, you will:

• Provide culturally responsive mental health assessments, counselling, and case management.

• Develop individualised recovery and wellbeing plans in partnership with clients.

• Facilitate group programs and community education workshops where needed.

• Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with legal and organisational policies.

• Contribute to community capacity building and advocacy activities.

  About You

  ✅ Degree-qualified in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or related discipline.✅ Registered with AHPRA, ACA, PACFA, AASW or other relevant professional body.✅ Experience working with CALD communities and a deep understanding of cultural, migration, and settlement-related mental health issues.✅ Excellent communication, interpersonal, and cross-cultural engagement skills.✅ Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a community-based setting.

  Desirable:

  • Bilingual skills (please specify language[s]).

  • Experience in trauma-informed practice, refugee and asylum seeker support, or community development.
