About the role

We are seeking a talented Chef de Partie to join our dynamic team at IL MATTO TORQUAY. As a full-time Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for overseeing a specific section of our kitchen, ensuring the consistent and high-quality preparation of all dishes that leave our kitchen. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a passionate and creative culinary team in the heart of Torquay, VIC 3228.

What youll be doing

  • Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to the highest standard
  • Ensuring all food preparation and cooking processes adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Assisting the Head Chef in menu development and the implementation of new recipes
  • Maintaining a clean and organised work environment in your section of the kitchen
  • Mentoring and training junior kitchen staff to uphold our high standards
  • Collaborating with the wider kitchen team to deliver an exceptional dining experience for our customers

    • What were looking for

  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar Chef de Partie or senior line cook role within a fast-paced hospitality environment
  • A passion for creating high-quality, innovative dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • A team-player attitude and the ability to mentor and train junior kitchen staff
  • A relevant culinary qualification or certificate
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
