About the role The Department of the Legislative Council is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused individual to join our dynamic team on a fixed term basis as a Chamber Services Officers within the Usher of the Black Rods Office. This role plays a pivotal part in supporting the efficient operation of the Parliament and ensuring an exceptional experience for Members of Parliament, staff, and visitors.
Your main responsibilities will include.
- Providing exemplary support services during Chamber sitting days to Members, Table officers, and the public and media galleries by distributing documents and overseeing access.
- Collaborating with the Guest Services Officer and Meeting and Resources Support Coordinator to ensure a high level of customer service for all visitors to the Parliament.
- Managing visitor procedures, including public/private separation, and contribute to security and safety measures.
- Assisting in the set-up and maintenance of meeting rooms and spaces, supporting various functions and events.
- Contributing to public information roles, including conducting tours and supporting Parliament House Open Days.
- Assisting with administrative support during non-sitting weeks.

- Proven experience delivering high-quality, time-sensitive customer-focused services.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a flexible, team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate information clearly and seek cooperation.
- Capability to work autonomously under pressure, displaying initiative in various situations.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
