Workshop Coordinator

Our client is a leading WA Civil/Earthworks company and due extensive business growth, there is now an exciting opportunity for a Workshop Coordinator to join their growing team based in the South-West, WA. This position is offered on a permanent basis with an immediate start available.

Key duties and responsibilities:

• Ensuring the safe, high quality and efficient running of all workshop operations.
• Directing mechanical/workshop staff to assigned projects.
• Plan, lead, organise and control workshop operations.
• Assist with training and development of workshop team.
• Ensure quality maintenance standards are evident and practiced throughout workshop.
• Forecasting parts needs and ordering parts to maintain optimal inventory levels.
• Receiving parts, including placing them into inventory and properly recording them.
• Have effective communication and negotiation skills with suppliers.
• Ensure that all Work Health & Safety requirements are first priority.
• Assisting with mechanical repairs and maintenance where required.
• Produce workshop activity reports for Senior Management.

Key skills, experience and qualifications required:

• Previous experience gained in a Workshop Management position.
• Ideally be a Trade qualified Diesel Fitter/Mechanic or have strong industry experience.
• Excellent technical and Product knowledge to ensure parts are correctly identified and sourced.
• Problem-solving skills to deal with parts/inventory issues.
• Keen observation skills to monitor plant and machinery.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong focus on safety.
• A can-do attitude is a must.
• C-Class Drivers licence.
