Company & Site

You will be joining a leading mining operation known for its safety‑first approach, investment in people, and strong retention of trades. The site also features :

  • The site runs a large underground hard rock mine with a well‑equipped maintenance workshop and top‑tier facilities.
  • Modern ensuite rooms with full meals provided.

Role & Duties

As a heavy diesel fitter you will be working alongside a team of experienced trades maintaining a range of modern mining and support equipment. Your key duties include :

  • Servicing, diagnostics, and repairs across heavy mobile plant and mining gear.
  • Attending breakdowns and carrying out preventative maintenance.
  • Component change‑outs and fault‑finding on mechanical and some hydraulic systems.
  • Working initially from the surface workshop before progressing underground once trained and signed off.
  • Exposure to a wide range of OEM equipment including Sandvik, CAT, Normet, and Elphinstone.
Travel & Roster

You will get to enjoy a roster and travel structure that is balanced, easy and flexible :

  • FIFO from major QLD locations - Brisbane, Townsville and Cairns with flights provided.
  • Short bus transfer from the airport to site.
  • 8 : 6 or 7 : 7 roster across days and nights.
  • Full camp accommodation and meals provided.
Your Skills & Experience

We are seeking an experienced heavy diesel fitter / mechanic who has the following :

  • Heavy diesel trade qualification – Cert III or equivalent.
  • Experience on heavy equipment is essential such as earthmoving, agricultural.
  • Open cut / underground mining experience is highly regarded.
  • Excellent safety focus and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to pass a full pre‑employment medical & police clearance.
