Transportation Manager

Work location: On site (no remote work)

Employment type: Permanent, full-time

Hours: 32 to 35 hours per week, flexible shift options, overtime available

Salary: $52.00 per hour

Experience required: 2 to less than 3 years

Education: Bachelor’s degree

Responsibilities

• Evaluate daily operations
• Monitor department’s performance
• Plan for changes to schedules and policies
• Recruit staff
• Train staff
• Manage finances or budget
• Arrange for shipping documentation and tracking and tracing of goods in transit
• Ensure transport compliance with regulations
• Establish and implement policies and standards for transportation and storage of goods
• Negotiate for services and preferential rates
• Oversee scheduling and dispatching of vehicles and goods
• Oversee setting of transportation service rates and monitor revenue
• Organize and maintain inventory
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption
• Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily operations
