We are seeking to establish a pool of English as an Additional Language/Dialect Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The RoleGreenwood College's Intensive English Centre (IEC) is seeking a dedicated and dynamic English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D) teacher to join their IEC team who ideally has a thorough understanding of students with limited schooling and/or students with little English language knowledge. In addition, experience teaching senior school EAL/D courses including Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) EAL/D will be viewed favourably.
Suitable applicants should ideally possess experience teaching EAL/D in an Intensive English Centre and or Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) context and should possess EAL/D or Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) qualifications as well as display an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and the WA EAL/D Progress Map. Ideally, the successful applicant will be a dedicated and highly motivated educator with the ability to develop quality teaching and learning programs across all learning areas to develop the students' language and literacy needs. The successful applicant may have a teaching load of up to 0.4 FTE in a mainstream class.
Greenwood College hosts an IEC with a diverse student population of young people from different countries, cultures and language backgrounds. Students enrolling in the IEC have minimal English or possess beginning or intermediate English language skills. Through the study of a range of core and elective subjects, these students acquire Standard Australian English and the skills, and knowledge needed for success in the Western Australian Education system. Students exiting the IEC may remain at Greenwood College but generally will enrol at their local intake school.
To be successful in this role, applicants should have a strategic, evidence and goal-focused approach to teaching that engages, supports, and challenges students to be active learners and critical thinkers. The ability to work effectively in and across teams is important. The context of the school may require applicants to apply effective interpersonal and emotional intelligence skills across the school as you support EAL/D students to be successful. This may include working closely with parents and the community to attain the best educational outcomes for them.
