Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Technical Manager to provide expert guidance, strategic oversight, and technical leadership across our Workers’ Compensation portfolio. This role plays a critical part in ensuring high-quality claims management, strong compliance, and outstanding performance outcomes across the organisation.

As a senior leader, you will drive continuous improvement, uplift technical capability, influence strategic decision-making, and partner closely with internal stakeholders, including our Legal team to ensure best practice across the scheme.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement across technical practices
  • Ensure claims teams meet performance and APA targets
  • Work with the Legal Manager to develop and implement performance strategies
  • Lead entitlement and forensic review activities, including fraud identification and referrals to WorkSafe
  • Provide technical guidance on claims management and legislation
  • Support claims teams to meet service, compliance and performance measures
  • Develop strategic initiatives and procedures to uplift performance and compliance
  • Build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Support organisational compliance with legal, governance and WorkSafe requirements
  • Review claims practices, identify trends and recommend improvements
  • Partner with the Legal Manager on strategies to support remuneration and performance outcomes
About You
  • Strong technical expertise in the Victorian Workers’ Compensation scheme
  • In-depth understanding of relevant legislation and WorkSafe guidelines
  • Experience in a technical specialist or similar senior role
  • Skilled in managing stakeholder relationships and competing prioritiesExcellent time management and organisational skills
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation and strategic-thinking ability
  • Proven experience coaching and mentoring case managers
