Senior Scientist, Skills Development Unit
As the Senior Scientist, you will be accountable for researching, developing, creating, and delivering effective learning and development programs across a wide range of clinical, leadership, and management areas, which align with the strategic goals of the organisation.
What youll do
- Advise organisational units in the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of scientific training to achieve staff development and workplace effectiveness.
- Develop effective professional relationships with clients, liaise with and understand the needs of clients, providing advice and assistance in a professional, friendly, and helpful manner.
- Demonstrate high level clinical expertise when supporting learning activities for PQ staff.
- Deliver Statewide clinical ‘Group Training programs for Scientific Staff and Clinical Assistants.
- Exercise high level clinical judgement to provide learning opportunities for PQ staff.
- Function as a primary educator utilising adult learning principles to develop, deliver and participate in clinical practice education and training programs within PQ.
- Lead the training of Dangerous Goods transport by air, road, and rail across Queensland Health, and maintain the required air transport qualifications in line with IATA certification.
About you
We are searching for someone with:
- Significant experience and knowledge in training and education in a scientific setting.
- A high-level knowledge of haematology, coagulation, chemistry, microbiology, and transfusion.
- Competence in the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of training built on adult learning principles.
- Competence in the basic design and development of online training resources and the ability to gain advanced abilities in the production of online training programs.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to maintain professional relationships across the state.
- Demonstrated personal values and qualities which contribute to a high functioning team, including empathy, trust, and support of others.
- Comprehensive understanding of laboratory quality systems and requirements of NATA accreditation and ISO certification.
