Starting in 2002 as a retail shop front in the suburban heart of South Sydney to breaking ground for a state-of-the-art production facility in 2023, we have worked hard to become the “Poultry & Schnitzel Specialists” and a trusted leading supplier for the food service industry.

About the role
Due to the company's continued expansion and current growth phase, an exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Production & QC Officer to join the team. Reporting to both the Production Manager and QA Manager, you will be responsible for monitoring active production/packing lines and supporting the Production Team to ensure compliance to quality systems and delivering on-time production schedules in respect to product quality and food safety standards from receivals, manufacturing, packing, and to dispatch.
This role also includes assisting the QA Manager for QA documentation, verification and conformance activities, supplier programs, and maintaining the company's accreditation with HACCP and NSW Food Authority.
The scope of responsibilities outlined are not an exhaustive list task. The tasks may be revised from time to time depending on business needs and requirements.
What you'll be doing
Monitor the quality, food safety systems, and processes of active production and packing lines inclusive of HACCP and NSW Food Authority licencing accreditation
Conduct daily verification activities related to Food Safety and HACCP Program
Support the QA Personnel and QA Manager in driving continuous improvement by proactively managing Corrective and Preventative action programs through efficient and effective dialogue with all relevant stakeholders
Report, trend, and document all production quality related issues and outcomes
Perform product assessments at various stages in the production cycle to ensure quality specifications are met
Oversee and support the production team/s to achieve desired targets, ensuring a safe, decluttered, and efficient environment, including all areas across Crumbing and Fresh Pack
Liaise with Production Team Leaders on production planning, shift activities, and assigning daily tasks to all process workers, ensuring all risk scenarios are adequately covered with identifiable contingencies
Maintain on-time production schedules for our Food service customers
Prepare, implement, and monitor measurable KPI's for the Production Team
Communicate with the QA Manager on any discrepancies that may arise
In conjunction with the QA Personnel and QA Manager, support back-end tasks such as NPD Planning, Production, and liaise with other departments to support optimal function delivery
Troubleshoot problems by conducting thorough investigations and implementing effective solutions to ensure optimal performance
Monitor equipment and workforce efficiency, taking action to improve where necessary
What we're looking for
5 years' experience within the food manufacturing Industry, preferably as a Production Team Leader and/or QC
A strong understanding of GMP, HACCP, Quality Management Systems, Internal Audit, and other Food Safety Standard Bodies
A commitment to excellence in the delivery of high-quality commercial food production
Results driven and biased towards systems thinking, creative thinking, and critical thinking
Must have experience with industry-standard labelling requirements, FSANZ, and preparing documents for External Audit
Able to work in a fast-paced environment and perform under pressure
Competent in MS Office, Excel, and desktop-based programs
Able to produce reports on production schedules and deliverables
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong people skills with the capacity to positively influence people and to initiate and deliver change independently or through teamwork
Possesses a forklift licence and first aid certificate (preferable but not essential)
