Policy & Quality Specialist Full Time | Permanent Location: Sydney CBD or North Parramatta

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in strengthening governance, policy management and continuous improvement across Uniting.
As Policy & Quality Specialist, you will be responsible for embedding governance and compliance within Uniting’s policy framework. You will oversee the full policy lifecycle from development and consultation through to approval, publication and review, ensuring policies remain current, consistent and fit for purpose across a complex organisation.
Working within the Customer, Risk and Governance Directorate and as part of the Quality and Service Improvement team, you will also support broader quality systems, accreditation readiness and continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation.
This role requires someone who is highly organised, analytical and collaborative, someone who can confidently work across teams, influence stakeholders and ensure policy and governance systems are effective and accessible.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this role you will:
Oversee and continuously improve Uniting’s enterprise policy framework, ensuring strong governance, compliance and consistency across the organisation
Coordinate the policy lifecycle process, including consultation, review, approval, publication and version control
Manage and enhance policy systems and registers, including SharePoint-based governance systems
Provide expert advice and guidance to policy owners and authors across the organisation
Support the quality and continuous improvement framework, ensuring systems and reporting support organisational learning and improvement
Assist teams to interpret legislation, accreditation standards and regulatory requirements
Provide quality assurance and compliance support to corporate and service teams
Contribute to organisational initiatives that strengthen governance, policy systems and quality outcomes
Support the development of reporting and dashboards that track policy status, compliance trends and continuous improvement activities
You will also play a role in fostering a culture that values accountability, collaboration, quality and person-centred practice.
About You
You are someone who enjoys bringing structure and clarity to complex systems. You are detail-oriented but also able to see the bigger picture, understanding how strong governance and policy frameworks support organisational impact.
You build trusted relationships, influence stakeholders effectively and are confident navigating a large and complex organisation.
You will bring:
Tertiary qualifications in business, quality, governance, risk, compliance or a related field (or equivalent experience)
3+ years’ experience in policy governance, quality, compliance, risk or a related discipline
Experience managing policy frameworks, registers and governance systems within a complex organisation
Strong capability in document management, editing and formatting complex corporate documentation
Advanced skills across the Microsoft 365 suite, particularly SharePoint, Word and Excel
Experience using Power BI and Excel to analyse data, develop dashboards and track governance metrics
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into practical insights
Excellent written communication and attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to work across teams and influence outcomes without direct authority
