The Opportunity

Signature Civil is looking for a driven and experienced Leading Hand to join our Perth-based metro civil construction team. Youll lead crews across a diverse mix of projects—from earthworks, paving and drainage to concrete and finishing works—bringing high standards of quality, safety, and productivity to every job

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & Mentoring: Guide and upskill crew members across earthworks, paving, concrete, drainage, and other civil operations.

• Work Planning & Coordination: Organise daily tasks—labour, plant, materials, deliveries, and subcontractor scheduling.

• Earthworks & Civil Execution: Manage cut-and-fill operations, subgrade prep, compaction, and base construction to design specs.

• Paving & Concrete Works: Oversee formwork, concrete pours, paving installation (brick, concrete), jointing, and finishing.

• Drainage & Site Infrastructure: Supervise installation of stormwater features, pits, piping, rock pitching, retaining walls, and civil structures.

• Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with Supervisors, Clients, Engineers—ensuring projects meet program, quality, and budget targets.

• Plant Utilisation: Safely manage plant usage, care for the equipment, and conduct clean-up operations effectively.

What Youll Bring

• Proven experience as a Leading Hand or Senior Operator in civil construction.

• Skilled in earthworks, paving (brick/concrete), drainage, and general civil tasks.

• Capable leader with strong communication and mentoring ability.

• Self-reliant problem-solver who keeps works flowing.

• Proficient with site documentation and digital reporting platforms.

• Supportive of safety-first culture with hands-on quality control.

Licences & Tickets (Required)

• Construction White Card

• Valid Drivers Licence

Desirable:

• Posi-track / Skid Steer (Pozi) ticket

• Heavy Vehicle Licence (HR+)

• Excavator Ticket / Licence
