Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Junior Site Technician (Indigenous) to join the Research Portfolio, Academic Division.
Do you love the outdoors and being amongst nature? Are you passionate about environmental conservation and sustainability? The Samford Ecological Research Facility (SERF) is looking for a Junior Site Technician (Indigenous) to support the day to day operations of the facilities whilst sharing and gaining knowledge on preserving and rehabilitating our natural environment. This entry level position is part-time with full study assistance to complete a Cert III in Conservation and Ecosystems. On successful completion, there may be an opportunity for additional study assistance to complete further study. The Samford Ecological Research Facility (SERF) is located in the Samford Valley, approximately 25km northwest of QUT's Gardens Point Campus in Brisbane. The 51 hectare property provides QUT with a research, teaching and learning base for a range of ecological, engineering, built environment and educational programs primarily relating to urban development, agriculture and their interaction with natural ecosystems. The SERF contributes to Australia's national land observatory (TERN), and is a part of the International Long-Term Ecological Research network (ILTER). SERF also has a strong outreach program, welcoming close to 1000 high school students per year to complete their environmental assessment in their final two years of schooling..
