Driller - Sandvik DP1500i Experience Preferred

The opportunity

Martyn Mining Services is seeking experienced Drillers to join our expanding team on-site operating FIFO Perth, Goldfields Region Western Australia. The ideal candidates will possess hands-on experience operating a Sandvik DP1500i or similar top hammer drill rig. Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain Sandvik DP1500i and other drilling equipment to the highest standards of safety and efficiency

• Conduct drilling activities & accurately follow drill plans and blast designs

• Collaborate effectively with MMS blasting teams.  

• Collaborate with the wider MMS mining team to troubleshoot issues and find innovative solutions

• Monitor and maintain drilling parameters to optimise performance of high quality tooling and maximise productivity output.

• Adhere to all relevant safety protocols and environmental regulations

• Conduct thorough pre-start checks and routine maintenance checks.

• Provide training and mentorship to less experienced team members

What were looking for

• Significant experience (5+ years) as a Driller, with a strong focus on the use of Sandvik DP1500i top-hammer drill rigs or similar drilling equipment

• Thorough understanding of drilling techniques, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting

• Excellent physical fitness and stamina to handle the demands of the role

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure

• Commitment to upholding safety protocols and environmental regulations

• Willingness to work in a team-oriented environment and provide mentorship to less experienced colleagues

• Relevant certifications or licences (e.g. drilling, heavy machinery operation)
