The PositionManage the postgraduate medical education and training program and prevocational workforce within the Launceston General Hospital (LGH) and ensure that this is in accordance with the requirements of the Australian Medical Council (AMC) through the Postgraduate Medical Education Council of Tasmania (PMCT). This includes liaison with specialist colleges and the University of Tasmania.Provide guidance and support to the junior medical workforce of Launceston General Hospital.Facilitate training and education sessions in accordance with Accreditation Standards.Liaise with the Post Graduate Medical Education Council of Tasmania to deliver a fostering environment and pathway for junior doctors.Health ServiceThe Launceston General Hospital is an accredited 450 bed teaching hospital and is the major referral hospital for Tasmania’s North and North-West. The hospital provides emergency and acute care, specialist services, inpatient and ambulatory care to Launceston and surrounding areas. It also means embracing a lifestyle where you can enjoy extraordinary experiences outside of work while making a significant impact on the community during work.Essential CriteriaSpecialist or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia in a relevant specialty Qualification in education/medical education desirable The PackageVisiting Medical Practitioners Level 1- Visiting Medical Specialists Level 4 $254,149 - $445,341 per annum, pro rata + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging Salary range is in accordance with Tasmanian Visiting Medical Practitioners (Public Sector) Agreement 2019 In addition, the following allowances and benefit, calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available Salary packaging options include a range of benefits like living expenses up to $9,010 and $2,650 in meals and entertainment every year Professional development and accelerated pathways. A range of leave entitlements, including study leave and Professional Development Support. Fitness Passport – You, and your family can access 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for just $14.50 per week per person, or $28.05 for a family.
