The Opportunity

As Chief Financial Officer, reporting to the CEO, you’ll work closely with the executive team to shape the company’s financial strategy, lead financial management, accounting, commercial, risk and governance functions, deliver insightful reporting, and drive performance across all areas of the business. This is more than a numbers role — it’s a chance to be at the table for key decisions and make a real impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership, management and development of a dedicated team of Corporate Services staff.
  • Collaboration and engagement with the Executive and extended leadership team to deliver outcomes.
  • Leadership of all financial and accounting activities required for the effective operation of the Powerplant business including management accounting, shared services, financial accounting and tax, treasury and funding.
  • Strategic budget planning and management of budget preparation across the business.
  • Profitability analysis and advice on strategic opportunities and business operations to maximize earnings potential.
  • Commercial oversight including contract review and commercial advice, contract negotiations, analysis and due diligence for potential mergers and acquisitions.
  • Membership of Steering Committees for strategic initiatives and new service offerings to provide financial and risk expertise.
  • Insurance Program proposals and renewals including broker interface and claims administration.
  • Management of building lease agreements, maintenance, vehicle fleet administration and amenities.

What You Bring

  • You’re an experienced finance professional (Finance Manager, Financial Controller, GM Finance or similar) looking for your next career-defining challenge.
  • You have experience working within entrepreneurial and project environments that demonstrates understanding of high transaction businesses, importance of margins, risks and data driven decision making.
  • You’re a natural leader with excellent communication skills and the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy working collaboratively to drive outcomes.
  • You are CA/CPA qualified.
  • Strong commercial, analytical and financial acumen with experience managing complex commercial projects, risk and governance obligations.
  • Proven ability to develop and lead a highly engaged team.
  • Proven ability to deliver outstanding results through the implementation of business improvement initiatives and innovation.
  • Ability to work constructively within a high performing team environment.
  • Focused on delivering results safely, effectively, and economically.
  • Experience with oversight of IT and systems administration for operational software systems, and Board governance and administration is an advantage.
