As a Caseworker, you'll walk alongside refugee and multicultural families as they navigate life in Australia, providing intensive early intervention, preventative support and practical guidance that empowers parents and strengthens family relationships.
Through home visits and family-centred support, you'll help parents build confidence in their parenting, strengthen connections with their children, and encourage positive engagement in their children's development and education.
Your work will have a lasting impact by helping families understand the services, systems and supports available to them in Australia. You'll provide education and advocacy around essential services including education, healthcare, Centrelink and the NDIS, while increasing awareness of Australian laws, parenting expectations, domestic and family violence, and the rights and responsibilities of Australian residents.

What you’ll be doing:
Provide intensive early intervention and preventative support to refugee and multicultural families through home visits and community outreach.
Build positive, strengths-based relationships with parents to enhance parenting skills and family wellbeing.
Support families to engage in their children's development, education and school participation.
Educate and empower families to navigate Australian systems, including education, healthcare, Centrelink and the NDIS.
Increase awareness of Australian laws, parenting expectations, domestic and family violence, and the rights and responsibilities of Australian residents.
Conduct assessments, develop family support plans and monitor progress towards agreed goals.
Advocate for families and connect them with appropriate community services and supports.
Work collaboratively with schools, government agencies and community organisations to achieve positive outcomes for families.
Maintain accurate case notes, records and reports in line with organisational and legislative requirements.
Promote culturally safe, trauma-informed and family-centred practice in all aspects of service delivery.
Your Qualifications & Experience
A Diploma in Community Services or a related qualification.
Experience working with refugee and/or multicultural communities.
Strong relationship-building, communication and advocacy skills.
An understanding of trauma-informed and strengths-based practice.
The ability to engage respectfully with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
A current driver's licence and willingness to travel to conduct home visits.
A current NSW Working with Children Check
