About the role

Dysart Community Support Group Inc. is seeking an experienced Community Development Officer to join our team in Dysart, Queensland. This full-time position plays a vital role in driving community initiatives and engagement within our local area.

What youll be doing

  • Develop and implement community development projects and programs to address local needs and priorities

  • Facilitate community consultations, forums and events to encourage participation and collaboration

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including local government, community groups and service providers

  • Secure funding and resources to support community development activities

  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of community development initiatives

  • Provide advice and support to the community on a range of social issues

  • Represent the organisation at relevant meetings and forums

What were looking for

  • Tertiary qualification in Community Development, Social Work or a related field

  • Demonstrated experience in community engagement, project management and program delivery

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders

  • Excellent problem-solving and creative thinking skills

  • Familiarity with the local community and understanding of the regions social and economic challenges

  • Commitment to social justice and a passion for improving community wellbeing
