Job Description

At the NSW Department of Education, we educate and inspire lifelong learners – from early childhood, through schooling to vocational education and training.

  • Temporary, Full-Time up to 30 September 2029
  • Location: Lismore, Coffs Harbour or Forster with flexible work arrangements
  • Salary: Clerk Grade 7/8 with salary ranging from $113,574 to $125,720 + super and annual leave loading

About Cleaning Services

The NSW Government’s reforms to public sector cleaning services entail the NSW Department of Education taking over management of the state’s Whole-of-Government cleaning contracts from January 1, 2026.

A team has been established to deliver an enhanced Whole-of-Government cleaning contract for alignment and delivery of all program streams, including Governance, ITD, Recruitment and Risk Management.

About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Cleaning Services team as a Cleaning Services Inspector. You will supervise and mentor Support Inspectors, conduct site inspections, maintain accurate records, and report on performance and compliance.

This role requires you to liaise with facility staff, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve issues, track rectification actions, and support continuous improvement in inspection practices and reporting systems while promoting WHS, industrial relations, and Modern Slavery compliance.

Key Knowledge And Experience
  • Experience conducting site inspections, audits, or monitoring activities, and preparing documentation and reports.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential Requirements Of The Role
  • Experience conducting site inspections, audits, or monitoring activities, and preparing documentation and reports.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
