About the role

This is a permanent full-time opportunity (38 hours per week) and can be based at a Uniting site across Western Sydney or Nepean Blue Mountains.

• Willingness to visit all LHD sites across the regions on a fortnightly basis
• Flexibility to WFH up to 2 to 3 days / week

As Service Manager, you will provide true service-level leadership across a multi-site, embedded workforce, focusing on the day-to-day operations to ensure clinical delivery is effective, connected, data-informed, and continuously improving. In this capacity, you are responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and day to day management of the LikeMind program. Your role encompasses overseeing service delivery, maintaining high-quality clinical care, managing a multidisciplinary team, and driving program development in alignment with Uniting’s strategic priorities. Additionally, you ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and foster collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to enhance recovery outcomes for individuals receiving mental health support from the Local Health District.

Key aspects of the role include:

• Leading day-to-day service delivery to ensure high-quality, responsive care
• Supporting and connecting embedded clinical teams across multiple LHD sites
• Ensuring service KPIs, funding requirements, and reporting obligations are met
• Using data confidently to monitor performance, inform decisions, and tell the service story
• Strengthening relationships with LHD partners and on-the-ground service teams
• Driving continuous improvement within an innovative, evolving service model

About LikeMind
LikeMind is an innovative, state-funded mental health program delivering integrated, person-centred care for people with complex and longer-term mental health needs. The redesigned LikeMind model shifts the focus away from maintaining physical sites and toward flexible service delivery model that will only be taking referrals from local health districts. Clinicians work solely with consumers engaged within Local Health District (LHD) teams. This enables warm referrals, shared governance, streamlined access to care, and strong collaboration across primary and secondary mental health systems.

LikeMind increases therapeutic capacity and responsiveness, supporting consumers more effectively within existing health system pathways. The model expands beyond short-term interventions, providing sustained, evidence-based psychological and psychosocial supports for people with higher clinical and functional complexity. Working in close partnership with LHD teams LikeMind strengthens stepped care, improves service navigation, supports earlier discharge from hospital and community mental health services, and delivers meaningful outcomes for consumers.

What you need to succeed

• Tertiary qualifications in Psychology or an equivalent discipline relevant to the field
• Full membership/registration with a relevant professional body (e.g. AHPRA)
• Demonstrated people leadership experience
• Strong service leadership capability, including oversight of clinical delivery and KPIs
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across systems
• Confidence working with data, budgets, and service performance information
• Proven ability to negotiate, implement, and lead change within new or evolving service models
• Current Australian Driver Licence

• Experience working within a Local Health District, Justice, or forensic setting
• Experience leading across multiple sites or managing a remote/distributed workforce
• Experience facilitating or overseeing group-based therapeutic programs
