Mount Coolum Day Care Centre

is on the lookout for a dedicated and creative cook to join our team. As part of our centre, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our children by preparing nutritious and delicious meals that fuel their learning and growth.

• Plan and Prepare Meals: Create and cook healthy, balanced, and child-friendly meals in line with dietary guidelines and individual needs.
• Create Excitement: Design appealing and varied menus that encourage children to enjoy nutritious foods.
• Ensure Safety and Hygiene: Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations, including food allergies and special dietary requirements.
• Collaborate with the Team: Work closely with the educators to ensure mealtimes are enjoyable and contribute to children’s social and emotional development.

• Minimum Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery
• A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
• Experience in a similar role, preferably within an early learning or child care setting.
• Knowledge of safe food handling practices and relevant qualifications (Food Safety Certificate).
• A passion for creating nutritious meals for children and a commitment to promoting healthy eating habits.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
• A current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) is preferred.
