We're looking for an experienced Data Solution Architect to join our Architecture team and play a key role in shaping Lifeblood's data future. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who combines deep technical expertise with strong commercial thinking and enjoys working with projects and translating business challenges into practical, scalable solutions.

You'll work on a diverse portfolio of projects, helping teams understand how data should flow across platforms, how solutions should be designed, and how we can deliver business value without unnecessary complexity or cost. You'll spend most of your time supporting project delivery and solution design, while also contributing to the longer-term direction of the data architecture domain. This is a highly collaborative role where you'll bridge the gap between business needs and technical delivery; working closely with data engineers, analysts, project teams and senior stakeholders to ensure solutions are practical, scalable, secure and commercially sustainable.

Key Responsibilities:\n

  • Lead solution architecture for major data initiatives and transformation projects.
  • \n
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand challenges, opportunities and requirements, translating them into clear architectural designs.
  • \n
  • Guide Data Engineering teams on how solutions should be designed and delivered.
  • \n
  • Design scalable data platforms, pipelines and analytics solutions that balance performance, governance and cost.
  • \n
  • Own and maintain the enterprise architecture roadmap for the data domain, including defining, governing and evolving the associated architecture patterns and standards.
  • \n
  • Provide architectural advice across data movement, storage, governance, analytics, security and privacy.
  • \n
  • Support Lifeblood's growing AI ambitions by ensuring our data platforms are ready for future AI-enabled use cases.
  • \n
  • Evaluate architecture options and make recommendations that achieve outcomes without unnecessary complexity or cost.
  • \n
  • Collaborate across Architecture, Infrastructure, Integration, Security and Delivery teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • \n
Sound interesting? Here’s what we’re looking for:\n

  • Strong experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale data solutions across Azure and cloud environments
  • \n
  • Expertise in modern data platforms and tools, including Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, data lakes, lakehouses and data warehousing solutions
  • \n
  • The ability to translate business requirements into practical, scalable solution designs that can be successfully delivered by engineering teams
  • \n
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to influence technical and non-technical audiences and explain complex concepts clearly
  • \n
  • Commercial acumen and an ability to balance performance, risk, scalability and cloud cost optimisation when making architecture decisions
  • \n
  • A strategic mindset with an interest in shaping future data capabilities, including enabling AI-ready platforms and supporting long-term architecture roadmaps
  • \n
