About the Opportunity

As a Cleaner, you will play an important role in ensuring our facilities are clean, safe and well-presented. Working independently and as part of a supportive team, you will undertake a variety of cleaning and maintenance duties across Shire-owned buildings and public spaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake cleaning duties in accordance with the cleaning schedule.
  • Sweep, mop and clean floors, buildings and surrounding areas.
  • Empty bins, vacuum carpets and maintain office spaces.
  • Clean kitchens, wash dishes following meetings and remove cobwebs.
  • Clean public BBQ facilities, hot plates and surrounding areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness of gazebos, benches and associated infrastructure.
  • Carry out window cleaning as required.
  • Report damage, maintenance issues or hazards identified during cleaning activities.
  • Promote a positive image of the organisation through professional conduct and customer service.
  • Comply with all workplace health and safety requirements and organisational policies.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have
  • Previous cleaning experience and knowledge of cleaning products.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A positive, proactive and "can-do" attitude.
  • A commitment to workplace health and safety.
  • The physical capability to undertake manual cleaning tasks.
  • A current C Class Driver's Licence.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle.
  • A current National Police Clearance
