About this opportunity

The NACC has an Operational Intelligence Analyst position available for immediate filling in the Operations NSW 1 Team in Sydney.
There is one position available for immediate filling in Sydney, with a merit pool to be established for Canberra vacancies that may arise in the future.

About the role

The NACC is currently seeking to fill an intelligence analyst position within the Operations New South Wales 1 team in the Operations Branch.

Operational Intelligence Analysts in the NACC are an integral part of an Operations team that investigates allegations of corruption. They may work on several matters at one time or be dedicated to a single large investigation.

Key activities
  • Engage with a variety of relevant stakeholders, third parties and sources to collect raw data, information and intelligence, in a structured and efficient manner, in support of the NACC’s priorities.
  • Collate and store information of relevance to the NACC, according to accepted guidelines, for current and future use.
  • Conduct analysis and provide insight and assessment in support of the NACC’s decision-making and functions.
  • Provide intelligence support to all aspects of the investigation lifecycle including assessment, planning, resolution and finalisation.
  • Conduct intelligence activities within the framework of investigation requirements, following the relevant legislative and policy guidelines.
  • Prepare intelligence reports for internal and external dissemination and actively participate in intelligence review and feedback processes.
  • Highlight and refer potential corruption weaknesses and trends identified throughout an investigation to relevant internal stakeholders.
The NACC is a small agency. In addition to these activities, from time to time you may be asked to undertake tasks that are outside your usual span of duties but that are within the range of your capabilities. Supporting one another in this way provides opportunities for exposure across the agency and is an integral part of the Commission’s positive workplace culture.

Eligibility

Employment with the NACC is subject to the following conditions:
  • Citizenship – applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
  • Security clearance – this is a Designated Security Assessment Position. The occupant of this position will be required to undergo and maintain a security clearance to Negative Vetting 1.
  • Suitability assessment - the NACC must be satisfied that successful applicants are of suitable character. They must undergo a rigorous pre-employment suitability screening process that can be intrusive in nature including (but is not limited to) detailed background, character, employment, police and financial checks.
  • Probation - a probation period will apply to a new ongoing engagement in the Australian Public Service.
