Join the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) as a Ranger in the enchanting outback town of Chillagoe, where your work is vital to the upkeep and management of a group of unique parks, including the Chillagoe-Mungana Caves National Park. Your role centres on welcoming visitors and guiding them through the Donna, Royal Arch, and Trezkinn Caves, breathtaking formations that captivate those who roam their depths.In Chillagoe, nature orchestrates a vivid seasonal ballet, a vivacious wet season followed by an extended, tranquil dry season. As a Ranger, youll adapt to this cycle to safeguard delicate habitats while ensuring a friendly, enlightening experience for visitors. Your duties are diverse: from trail construction and maintenance to habitat conservation, and upholding compliance with environmental laws.Clear communication is your forte as you educate park visitors and liaise with Traditional Owner groups, respecting cherished traditions and conservation values.Youll play a pivotal role in cultural heritage management and advocate conservation principles that balance ecological integrity with public enjoyment.Your responsibilities will also take you beyond the well-trodden paths to remote locations such as Staaten River National Park and Errk Oykangand National Park (CYPAL). Here, in the serenity of seclusion, your work is crucial in overseeing the health and accessibility of Queenslands idyllic natural reserves.In this role, youll become a champion for First Nations people, embodying a workplace culture of inclusivity and promoting positive outcomes through your interactions and initiatives.
