As a Court Services Officer, you will ensure that administrative processes relevant to the operations of courts, including the delivery of quality services to members of the public, judicial officers and other internal and external clients are performed efficiently.
You will be expected to assist others in the performance of their duties, and to undertake the more complex and/or onerous duties associated with day-to-day processing of matters in the registry or courtroom. Your role is also responsible for modeling professional and ethical behavior and being committed to personal development.
You will be responsible for ensuring policies and procedures, use of court technology and systems used in the Supreme, District and Magistrates Court are understood and followed. This role reports to the Deputy Senior Registrar.
People who work within the courts environment can be exposed to some harrowing and distressing circumstances. Exposure to those circumstances can result in people experiencing vicarious trauma. In this role, via your day-to-day work, as Court Services Officer, you may be exposed to information about offending behaviours, criminal activity and other explicit, distressing, or offensive content. Court Services Queensland has a range of strategies in place to help prevent vicarious trauma and support staff who experience vicarious trauma because of their work. However, personal resilience and individual coping strategies are an important factor. You should consider this carefully before applying for the role.
