About the opportunity

Reporting to the Group CFO, the Executive Manager (Chief of Staff to Group CFO) supports the achievement of the Finance, Governance, and Commercial (FGC) operational and strategic objectives by providing leadership, project management, advice, and integration across a diverse portfolio and is accountable for the governance and operating rhythm of the function.


The Executive Manager is expected to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, a high degree of consulting capability, commercial acumen, advanced Board Paper writing skills, and the ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organisation. An essential aspect of the role is to be flexible to changing requirements and to support the preparation and delivery of initiatives and programs of work in FGC and across the Enterprise.


What you’ll deliver with us

  • Providing a high level of business and advisory support to the CFO and FGC Senior Leadership Team (SLT) on a diverse range of critical and operational initiatives, leading critical and operational initiatives as required, and cultivating strategic relationships with key stakeholders across the business
  • Identifying, framing, and solving specific problems for the business, structuring the problem, identifying and conducting the proper analyses, and providing recommendations to resolve these issues
  • Consulting the CFO to design, manage, and evolve the business units strategic and operational operating rhythms, including creating materials and reports that ensure we are having the right conversations at the right time
  • Partnering with and influencing the CFO and SLT to drive focus, accountability, and delivery of crucial enterprise and functional objectives per the CFOs priorities and scorecard
  • Working with our Business Partners to coordinate, integrate, and deliver the annual and quarterly business planning cycles for the function (including Finance, Capital Investment, Group Risk & Compliance, People & Culture) and provide insights on the outputs to the FGC and leadership teams


About you

  • Relevant professional qualifications in either Finance, Business, Economics, Law
  • Demonstrated experience building cross-functional solid working relationships within a matrix environment
  • Experience in the provision of strategic advice and support in the context of large, complex organisations undergoing significant change
  • Superior written communication skills and excellent experience writing Board Papers and strong attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and forecast business performance trends
