This job opportunity is within the student domain of the Information Technology – Digital Technology Delivery team at the University. The focus of the student application team is to ensure high availability of application services that support University business processes and serve thousands of staff and students. The team follows Service Management principles and the ITIL framework, covering Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Service Request Fulfilment, and Environment Management. Various application delivery approaches are used, including Software as a Service, Platform as a Service, in-house hosted third-party systems, and in-house developments. The goal is to enhance operational efficiency for staff and provide a top-notch student experience.

The role involves collaborating with stakeholders and colleagues to enhance the Universitys applications, analyzing business requirements, supporting user testing, and re-engineering business processes. The position also focuses on delivering exceptional customer service and escalating issues when necessary. As a thought leader in the University, Swinburne IT identifies opportunities to simplify, automate, and transform the Universitys operations through technology. The Applications function ensures that IT application services support academic and operational functions to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. The location of this role is within the University.

The Application Analyst will be primarily responsible for supporting InPlace, amongst other platforms, within the organisation working with stakeholders and other team members to ensure the effective use of the program within Swinburne.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
  • Demonstrated experience in software incident management and problem management including investigation, resolution, and communication
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A strong customer service orientation with a focus on results and quality of service
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks at any one time while maintaining high quality standards

Qualifications
  • Relevant qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
